Prologue, Second Edition
I'm pleased to release the second edition of Prologue!
This update is significant enough that I don't consider it a regular update, it's a whole new edition! The mechanics of the game have been fully revised, new prompts have been added, and all the rules have been re-written. The core of the game remains the same, and the stories you will tell with friends are won't change. Hopefully, you will enjoy the new mechanics!
Prologue was the very first game I ever designed by myself, and I've always loved it. But there was always something about the mechanics that I wasn't happy with. They never quite felt right to me. But recently my brother introduced me to a card came called Kaboo and I thought, Oh, this is doing Prologue better than Prologue. I've used that core, with modification, and layered on the rich, emotive storytelling of Prologue for a refreshed look and feel.
Along with this expanded second edition I will also be releasing a full suite of print-at-home Tarot-sized cards for use in Prologue, including the game effects on the card, and new art. I am also exploring a print-on-demand boxed edition through The Game Crafter, which I'll keep you posted on.
With this new edition, I am making an increase to the base price of the game to bring it in line with my larger releases. For the next month, the price will remain the same, so if you are on the fence about Prologue, or have friends you want to recommend the game to, snap it up soon!
If you enjoyed the first edition, don't worry, it's not going anywhere. It will remain available for download for as long as Prologue is available.
I hope you enjoy telling stories with your friends using Prologue Second Edition!
